We have some important updates, and are offering purchasers of our first few hundred units — many from the original Kickstarter campaign — a free update.
Plugable UD-ULTCDL Triple Display Docking Stations purchased between May 31, 2016 and July 18, 2016 are eligible for an updated replacement docking station, at no cost, under warranty. All units purchased after that date already have these updates.
Our first batch of docking stations shipped with an early firmware version from Texas Instruments on the dock’s USB-C controller and they also included a non e-marker (“passive”) USB-C to USB-C cable. The early TI firmware damaged some docks during USB-C Power Delivery negotiation. Newer TI firmware which is on all units shipping after July 18, 2016 resolves this issue. Also, the e-marker (“active”) cables help insure that the capabilities of the cable are not exceeded. The updated replacement docks will ship with the latest firmware from Texas Instruments, the ability to update to future firmware versions if needed, a circuit board update, and an e-marked (“active”) USB-C to USB-C cable.

1) Your Amazon Order ID sent via email by Amazon when you ordered the UD-ULTCDL (will be a number like 123-1234567-1234567). We’ll confirm your unit is from the affected time-period.
2) Serial number located on the bottom of the docking station.
3) What make and model of host system(s) you’re using the dock with.
4) Preferred shipping address (including name)
Once the replacement dock arrives, we will then provide you with a prepaid US Postal Service return shipping label to send the original dock back to us.
Unfortunately at this time we cannot replace docks for Chromebook Pixel users, pending compatibility fixes for newer firmware. Chromebook users should contact us for further details.
