Introducing Plugable’s New USB 3.0 Graphics Adapter with Audio for 2K/1080P Displays

Multimedia background. 4k resolution conceptWe are excited to introduce the Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphics Adapter with Audio for Multiple Monitors – the newest member of our USB 3.0 graphics family!

Our new 2K HDMI adapter is powered by the DisplayLink DL-3500 chipset with support for display resolutions up to 2560×1440 at 50Hz refresh rate, and 1080p and lower displays at 60Hz refresh rate. The 2K HDMI adapter will enable you to extend your computer’s screen to an additional display with ease and take advantage of high definition audio over HDMI.

Our 2K HDMI adapter is the middle sibling to our USB 3.0 4K HDMI adapter (UGA-4KHDMI) and our USB 3.0 2K DVI/VGA/HDMI Adapter (UGA-3000) and shares the same minimal design with a robust 12″ (30cm) USB 3.0 cable.

Multiple-monitors_HalfIn short, you’ll want to choose the UGA-2KHDMI over the UGA-3000 if your extra monitors have HDMI and built-in speakers. If you’re unsure which adapter will best fit your needs, please reference the comparison chart on the USB 3.0 2K HDMI Product Page, or feel free to reach out via email to support@plugable.com and we’ll be happy to help!

Hi Emilio, thanks for asking! Unfortunately, many users experience issues running DisplayLink-attached USB displays on Mac OS X. Because of this limitation, we do not recommend our USB graphics adapter for use with Mac Mini and other Mac systems as performance can yield unsatisfactory results.
