The DC-125 is a simple docking solution to add an extra monitor, keyboard, mouse, and audio to any PC.
Software Setup (Drivers) for Windows Laptop Docking
For use as a Universal Laptop Dock on Windows 7, Vista, and XP, just download the latest drivers from displaylink.com and no extra software is required. Through the DC-125, you now have easy connectivity to the extra attached keyboard, mouse, speakers, microphone, and .. most importantly .. an extra monitor.
Multiple Displays
We often hear customers say “After using multiple monitors, I can’t go back!”. If you’re doing information work — looking at one document while editing another, researching, or generally working on several things at once — it’s indispensable.
Simply drag windows back and forth to make use of all the extra Windows desktop space.
Plugable USB graphics adapters fully support rotation — turn one or both screens to show documents in gorgeous full-page layout (with a monitor stand that’s capable of rotation).
A common setup is to create a beautifully symmetric yet flexible 3 display desktop, combining your laptop display with 2 extra monitors on either side with your laptop’s external graphics port + one Plugable adapter, or with two Plugable adapters to allow easy USB dock/undock.

Software Setup (Drivers) for Windows Multipoint Server 2011
- Boot into Windows Multipoint Server’s “Maintenance Mode”
- Make sure your server’s graphics drivers have been upgraded from VGA to the native drivers which support WDDM/Aero (usually from Intel, nVidia, or ATI). Note: some common server GPUs do not support WDDM and Aero, including the Matrox G200 series. These cards are not supported, and must be upgraded. This is required for the DisplayLink drivers in the next step.
- Download and install the latest Multipoint compatible DisplayLink drivers for the DC-125. If any errors are reported, let us know. You should see the screens attached to the DC-125 showing blank desktops.
- Note that USB Zero Clients with different underlying technology/drivers cannot be mixed on the same system. The major chipsets are DisplayLink, MCT (Magic Control Technology), and SMSC. So if you will have Zero Clients from different brands mixed on the system, insure they use the same technology (ours, including the DC-15, all use DisplayLink technology).
Now just return to “Standard” mode and (with keyboard & mouse attached to each DC-125), you’ll see a fresh login come up on each one.
A free 240-day evaluation copy of Multipoint Server 2011 is available for download from Microsoft. Up to 14 DC-125s per server are supported (limited by DisplayLink’s drivers and USB 2.0 limits)
