Samsung’s Desktop eXperience (aka Samsung DeX) lets you connect your supported Samsung device to a keyboard, mouse, and external monitor for a desktop-like experience. While DeX has been released for some time, DeX mode was previously restricted to Samsung-branded docks. Now, Samsung has opened DeX functionality to a broader array of products allowing for a more comprehensive range of connection possibilities. Plugable has been actively researching and testing our docks, hubs, adapters, and cables for DeX compatibility. We are happy to announce several products that will help provide you with the flexibility and creativity to tailor your mobile desktop experience to your specific workflow environments. The Plugable USBC-MD103 adapter is a great option for when simplicity and mobility are key. Simply connect the USBC-MD103 adapter to the Samsung device, connect an HDMI cable to the adapter, and you’re good to go. The USBC-MD103 comes with a USB 3.0 Type-A port in case a mouse, keyboard, or storage device might be needed. And if charging is a must, you can connect an external USB-C charger to the USB-C port on the USBC-MD103 adapter for pass-through charging.

USB-C and Thunderbolt 3/4 Cables for USB-C Monitors with DeX Support

For monitors that support a USB-C video input, Plugable offers USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 cables of varying length to directly connect your Samsung device to the USB-C monitor.

Most USB-C cables included with smartphones and other devices are not designed to support video, as not all USB-C cables are created equally.

Plugable’s 2m Thunderbolt 3 cable may be preferred over our USB-C cable option when you might want:
